Dear me,
Tonight, I choose to sit with you – not to fix you or judge you. I am sitting with you quietly, gently and honestly because I know you are tired. Tired from showing up. Tired from being strong. Tired from carrying things quietly. Tired from responding to life even when you have not had time to listen to yourself. You have been present for many things but not always present with me.
You have answered messages, met expectations, even smiled when you were weary. You kept moving even when I prompted you I needed a pause. But now, in this quiet moment, I want to ask you something simple – “Can you hear me?”
Not the noise around you. Not the expectations calling your name. Not the pressure asking you to prove yourself. Not the world demanding another version of you. Can you hear me?
Can you hear my voice beneath all the noise. Not the world. Not the voice of comparison.
Not the many opinions you have carried in your mind. Can you hear me? The real me. The inner me. The quiet me. The me beneath all the roles, the performance, the expectations, and the need to keep everything together.
I think I have been trying to reach you for a while. I have spoken through your tiredness. I have spoken through your restlessness. I have spoken through the heaviness you could not explain. I have spoken through the peace you felt when you stepped away from certain things. I have spoken through the discomfort you kept ignoring, because the world has been loud. And somewhere in the middle of always being available, always responding, always doing, always proving, my voice became faint.
Not because I left you. I have always been here. Quiet. Patient. Waiting. Waiting for you. Waiting for this moment. A moment when you stop running, when you stop pretending. A moment when you stop performing and allow yourself to be. A moment when you let your hair down and be honest with yourself.
So tonight, let us tell the truth – ourselves, between you and I.
You are tired.
You are not okay in the way you have been saying you are okay.
You miss yourself.
You have been carrying too much quietly.
You have been present for everyone else but absent from your own inner world.
You are disconnected from me.
Hmmmm… take a pause on that one and let it sink in – you are tired. Tired of being master of all and none of yourself.
You are not disconnected because you are careless. You have simply been overwhelmed with too much noise. Too much pressure. Too much comparison. Too much scrolling. Too much proving. Too much trying to be many things at once. And when there is too much noise outside, it becomes difficult to hear what is happening inside.
So, I am calling you back, back to me. Back to me – the quiet voice within that knows the way home. Bring out a paper, a book, a journal, or use the voice note in useClariva.com, take a moment to answer these questions you have been avoiding:
What am I really feeling?
What have I been ignoring?
What do I need right now?
What has been draining me?
What has been quietly asking for my attention?
What part of me have I abandoned just to keep up?
Don’t rush the answers because some answers may come as words. Some may come as tears. Some may come as silence. Some may come as one honest sentence on a page. And that is okay and enough. Tonight, I do not need perfect words. I only need honesty.
I need you to listen to the part of me that says, “This is too much.” The part of me that having been saying, “Slow down”, “This does not feel like me.” The part of me that says, “I want more peace here”, “Don’t forget me while trying to be everything for everyone.”
My voice is not lost. I am only waiting for you to return. And every time you pause to listen, I rebuild trust with myself. I become less easily pulled in every direction.
I become clearer about what belongs to me and what was only placed on me by pressure. I become softer with myself. I become more grounded in my decisions.
I stop confusing noise with purpose. Maybe this is what alignment feels like.
Not a perfect life. Not a life without questions. Not a life where everything is figured out. But a life where I am present with myself.
Present enough to notice what gives me peace. Present enough to notice what drains me. Present enough to notice what makes me shrink. Present enough to notice what makes me feel alive again. Tonight, I am not asking you to become a new person. I am simply asking you to make room to hear the person I have been all along.
So, dear me, breathe. Place your hand on my heart. Let the day fall off your shoulders. Let the noise settle. Let the rush leave your body. Ask gently: What have I been trying to tell myself? Then listen. Not quickly. Not critically. Not with judgement. Listen like someone you love is speaking. Because I am speaking. And tonight, I deserve to be heard.
Your Highest Self
ME.
